I decided to get my legs and eyebrows waxed and a make-up makeover, you can never have enough knowledge when it comes to make-up, I thought it would be interesting to see what a make-up artiest would do. So I booked sections with Marion at The Natural Touch in St Albans, all the treatments under one roof.
I went on to The Natural Touch website via tvChix website, read about Marion and to see what The Natural Touch have to offer, It was just what I was looking for a cross-dressing friendly environment, I have been to other salons to get my legs waxed, which for me was fine as I pass as a woman, my advice would be if you are thinking about stepping out as a woman, get advice, get a makeover as it will build your confidence.
I arrived as Julie, I thought it would be good for Marion to see me at my current stage, (This is optional, you can dress when you get there and change back when you leave) I managed to squeeze: outfits, shoes, hats, make-up etc… Into two shopping bags (Except my handbag). It was easy to find as instructions were in the email, and if you have any questions just email Marion, and she will be happy to answer them.
I was greeted by Marion, a very friendly, warm, lovely person and I just knew we would connect. Marion shows me to her treatment room, it looks very professional and was giving off a relaxing vibe, makes you feel comfortable, if you have never been to a make-over before.
I don't want to spoil it for you by going into too much detail, as I said I had a full leg wax and eyebrow wax, I was thinking about a full body wax, but I did have reservations about waxing some areas, more to do with pain. Marion was happy to answer my question and put me right on a few misleading things you hear about.
Then we moved on to dressing, I showed Marion the outfits I had packed and changed into some of them and Marion gave her option and suggested accessories that could lift the outfit and make it unique to your style. It's good to get a second option on clothes or ideas on how to improve on them. Just by changing a few accessories, you don't need to get a new dress every time.
Then we got on to talking about make-up over a coffee, it was interesting hearing how you can improve and make it last longer and look better! Perhaps you want a new look or try something different. So we went through the process of putting your make-up on, from skin preparation to the finished look, some eyeshadows look a bit heavy, but I was soon put to rest at the end result, I looked amazing!
I even got a new primer the next day, Marion showed me what a proper make-up primer does and feels like, the results speak for themselves, and it will save you money in the long term buy not using as much make-up.

I was lucky that I could take my home with my new look, the five hours passed by so quickly, it was very enjoyable to get the option and professional service from Marion. When I have saved a few more pennies, I will be going back and Marion is going to introduce me to a colour stylist, we think I'm an autumn colour person, this will help with my style even more.
So, I would definitely recommend Marion at The Natural Touch, especially if you are a first timer, nervous, shy etc… Or you could be experienced but need to know more about certain things, ask Marion, and she will be happy to help you.
