I have to confess that The Nutcracker is not well known to me, I have heard of it but never took an interest until now. I love going to the castle with all the Christmas trees in every room of the castle.
It was quite packed as the actors were performing to entertain the children and a few adults. They did have a choir at the entrance, as you were waiting to go in, it adds to the spirit of Christmas.

The car park was a bit muddy, so leave your heels at home. You need a season ticket to get in, then it's all free except the food and drink. I have lost count on how many times I have been, it never disappoints, the Christmas Tree in the courtyard must have taken all day to decorate, not to mention the size of it. It is huge!
The actors are only there the weekend or school holidays, I would go then. It will be busy but adds to the experience. There are also a few queues to some rooms, if you are taking pictures then I find don't use the flash, as it will flatten the image.
I have uploaded a few more pictures on my Flickr page, so go and have a look. Click Here.
