Christmas Lights at Leeds Castle

Well, I haven't been out in ages, and about time. I took the opportunity to book the Leeds Castle Christmas Light trail, the booking cost for one is about £32 including a cancellation fee and parking. Never been before, so not sure in what to expect!

My first thoughts were, what to ware? A skirt was a must, with tights, small boots and a jumper, coat and gloves. With make-up, not too worried as it was dark but still have to make an effort, I haven't worn make-up for a while and I find my skin gets dry and rough, with adding make-up every day I find my skin softer and protected, so make-up is good for you! This event would be ideal for first timers that want to experience going out mingling with people.

I was worried about the weather, not much fun in the rain. Well. I was surprised on how many people were there, the car park was almost full, I had booked a parking space. With a sea of cars, you will need to will need to remember where you left your car. And don't for get your ticket and parking permit, or you're not getting in!

There were quite a lot of people as you have to book your time slot online, I thought there would be less, but not the case. So there could be queues!

The entry was actually quite easy due to the four ticket checkers that need to scan the ticket, that's if you don't fall over the push chair's and kids running through the crowds. Then you need to get your timing right to get the picture you want, I didn't mind the silhouette of people, it's part of atmosphere.

You get some strange images with the camera and long exposure, the lens needs to be open as much as it can due to the lack of light, but any wobble will make the light go all over the image, don't use the flash as it will flatten the image and look crap. Sorry, but my poor little camera had challenges.

You follow the tail up to the castle, I thought it was interesting as I had never seen Leeds Castle in the dark, I won't go too much into the details of the light exhibits, I will say they could have had more burger van and in another location as the queues were long and the average burger was a tenner, I had to go the van to see the menu and just hope I wasn't accused of queue-jumping.

I managed to find my car and even stopped at a fish and chip shop and had a jumbo sausage and chips, for a fiver! Just need to see the Christmas decorations at the Castle, another opportunity to go out!
