Finally, got a bit of time to go to Leeds Castle to see the Castle in Christmas decorations, been many times before every year. I had to renew my ticket, such a lovely lady in the office, very kind and helpful.
I don't know why I thought it was a good Idea to wear high heel boots, haven't warn heels in ages, and now I know why, my feet and legs ache. But I look good! I went early to beat the crowds, and get a parking space. With the kids still off school, it can get busy!
Went through the usual way, still had the Christmas lights event in place, hence the castle closes early at 3pm.
The castle what not fully open, as you have to go through the front door and go to the selected rooms, in heels you have to be careful on the stone floors, walk slowly, or you end up on your arse! The staff were lovely, in lady Baillie room one took my picture and told me about lady Baillie bathroom, the bath filled from the base upwards, so the occupant didn't get splashed, and the toilet had a wicker basket chair to cover the loo, and there wasn't actually allowed to write with lipstick on the mirror. She was a joy to talk to.
The rooms were very nice, I did manage to see the Queen's event, interesting queens of Leeds Castle, it's only seven minutes long and animated. Then I decided to get a hot chocolate, I went to the main eating area, ordering was easy, the girl serving was helpful and managed to find a seat.
After refuelling, found my way back, had a quick noise around the gift shop, to see if there are any bargains, still expensive. After Leeds Castle, went shopping, it's so good going shopping dressed as a woman, you can look at everything and try things on without a raised eyebrow from anyone.
I love being a woman, it can be so fun and you get to look good.
