Even for those who aren't typically Halloween enthusiasts, the spooky season often provides the perfect excuse to dive headfirst into party mode. It's a night where a few friends, dressed in their ghoulish best, gather for an evening of revelry or hiding behind the sofa, watching a horror movie.
The night inevitably unfolds with a round of shots — a decision often regretted by morning — that is, if the drinks don't run out first, followed swiftly by the snacks. But there's always the fallback of a late-night takeaway to save the day.
This particular Halloween, the party hit a snag when the essential Tequila Rose ran dry. A swift trip to Sainsbury's was in order, with hopes of snagging the bottle that was on offer. Upon arrival, only one large bottle remained on the shelf, and I couldn't help but confess that venturing out in a full witch's costume for grocery shopping wasn't my usual Friday night ritual; however, on Halloween, it's practically mandatory!
Despite a slight hesitation about the “bat pattern tights,” I've been assured they looked fantastic. The trusty witches' outfit, dusted off from years past, was a familiar sight, though the glittery bits always proved to be a tad itchier than I remembered. All in all, it was a memorable Halloween, and hopefully, everyone had a wonderfully spooky time without overdosing on the sweets!
