September Holiday

I've secured a week at the Box Cottage, located in Eastling. It's conveniently close to where I live, as I need to tend to my cat every other day. Like before on my holidays I live as a woman 247, which is so nice and able to come and go as I wish. The entry time is 4pm; I still take too many items. I might get it right one day.

Day two - Tuesday

I explored the cottage after settling in, as it was built in the 1700s, with low door ways, creaking floor boards and wanky walls, it all adds to the charm. The bed was comfortable though, the cottage had a second bedroom which made a good changing room and to put all my makeup! My first outing was to Asda Sittingbourne, looking for some wet weather black ankle Wellington boots, and a light weight jacket.

Afterwards I went to Jenny Wren - Marston Pub in Sittingbourne, was keen on getting the Hawkstone IPA & Beef Pie, Clarkson Pie, but it had cheese in it so ended up with the stake and ale pie, It was OK but nothing to write home about, and had a Woo Woo to drink, its not bad drink.

Day three - Wednesday

In the cottage, the bathroom is next to the kitchen, so a quick dash for a shower in the morning and then choosing what to wear due to the weather and what you are planning to do, then doing my makeup etc... So today I wanted to see the Sculpture Trail at Leeds Castle, not as many sculptures as previous years, then feed the cat at home, then ended up at Chequers Inn in Doddington, very nice pub the lady behind the bar was very nice and ended up with BLT and a larger top, was also going for the Apple and plum crumble with custard, but when I came to order it sold out!

Day four - Thursday

I was recommended to visit the Macknade Food Hall, it's a large farm shop, lots of nice things to buy, not cheap tho. I had to get big white grapes and corn on the cob sweetcorn, as fresh as it comes! I went to Belmont House and Gardens, it weather was wet, had a quick coffee and cake in the orangery, then a walk around the gardens, then I stopped off at the local church at Eastling, St Mary, I was suprised it as covered in flint and has 13 yew trees.

Day five - Friday

I started off with a bit of cleaning and clothes washing, hanging them out on the line, and topping up the bird feeders. Went shopping and then went to Faversham, for Chinese takeaway, best to go after six for parking as it's on the high street, the Chinese was actually good, I find it usually disappointing, but went well with a film on Disney +.

Day six - Saturday

Desired to go to the Ashford area, I went to Wye market and the church had a throwing teddy bears off the church tower, the children attach homemade parachutes and the winner is the best sending bear. They do it every year. Then I went to the Tickled Trout pub in Wye; parking was a problem as a motorbike group was also there. Managed to get a table and had Pork belly, most recommended.

Day six - Sunday

Sunday was a bit of a lay in, I decided that I would try out the local pub, Carpenters Arms which is just a walk away, I decided to put on a dress, was thinking about high heels but I would probably go ass over tit! The pub is owned by two women, very nice to talk to. I went for the Sunday roast beef, large amounts of food, lots of locals. There was also a tractorconvoy of 60 tractors for a sick local boy, had a very good time.

Day six - Monday

Last day, I started to pack the night before, only had the essentials left to pack. I was out by 9am, made sure I didn't leave anything, and cleared up any mess. I stopped off for some food shopping before heading home.
