Sutton Valence Castle

Actually, I wasn't planning to go to Sutton Valence Castle. I was booked into going to Leeds Castle but when I got there the queue was very long and as I sat there in my car it was getting longer and was hardly moving, I calculated I would have been about an hour and a half just to get in, almost as long as to go around the place.

So I ended up abandoning that idea and went. Anyway, the queue was manly full of screaming kids for the play area and there as no social distancing. As I was driving, I remembered on my to-do list of places to visit, and I remembered Sutton Valence Castle which is just down the road, you probably haven't heard of it, but it is an English Heritage site and Free to go. I feel like I'm going to turn in to an estate agent for the next bit as its description as a castle, it's more as a one-up-one-down, it's that small and a day under siege and the occupants would have to give up.

They do call it a Castle! More look out tower which needs modernizing as you can see from the pictures. There is no parking, so you have to park in Sutton Valence which has limited parking and walk to the site, It's only five minutes and then climb the steps to reach it.

But there was no one there, and you could take pictures without the interruptions of others.

There is a lovely view of the Kent countryside. I think I stayed about half an hour taking pictures.
