Christmas at Leeds Castle 2020

Freezing fog and rain! The Great British weather at its best in winter. A quick visit to Leeds Castle, almost wasn't as I forgot my ticket! Remembered to book online but took out the wrong ticket which was out of date, the computer says "yes" I did have a valid ticket after explaining it to the lovely ladies in the office. Thank you.

With the rain gave me the opportunity to wear my red rain jacket, felt like little red riding hood visiting grandma's house which turns out to be a castle! As grandma not in my bubble I couldn't visit to see if wanted too!

At Leeds Castle they are holding a Christmas event outside in wooden sheds with Christmas shaped trees made from various things with connections to the castle.

It's a lovely idea but a bit lacking. Well it could have been worse with a plastic Christmas grotto with tacky reindeer and elves etc...

Half away around they have made a post office for Santa letters which you can post, if you haven't already. You can't go into the castle, but can go around the gardens, which I did. Spotted a heron in the stream, god that water must be freezing! Then came across a white peahen and a peacock on my travels.

Overall it wasn't the best display, but they are limited to what they can do. It was nice to be able to get out and have some time as Julie. With only 25 days left before Christmas, that's if the government cancels Christmas!

So have a great Christmas or what ever you can do to keep safe and well!
