Jousting at Leeds Castle

Always wanted to see the Jousting at Leeds Castle, this time I went even if it rained, so taking my mud boot just encase the grass was muddy. When arriving there was a steward waving us on at the entrance, could stop as there were cars behind me so continued on following the car in-front.

We followed the diversion signs to a narrow lane into a grass field, it was quite a large field, so I tried to remember where I parked. I know when returning there would be a sea of cars! Car Park 2.

I just followed the people going into Leeds Castle, there was a queue, some tried to jump it, but you had to buy/show your ticked and get a paper wristband. The wait was about twenty minutes, not bad!

Once in, I made my way to the arena, to get a good view. There were plenty of fast food vans and a few tents with Candle making, crafts, pottery, pictures, etc…

If you could get to the tents without children with wooden swards waving them about hitting anything in their paths! When the Jousting started, were had the usual banter of England Vs France! A few boos for the French, as you do. Then they started, in their full armer, the lances being shattered into splinters.

There was another round later on, but I wanted to see the colourful garden, it lasted for about two hours, happy to report the English won that round! I didn't fancy paying £10 for a burger, so on the way home I stopped off at the garden centre and had a coffee and went around the shops.

I didn't find anything I liked, the dresses were a bit boring to be honest, and a bit short on cash as it was the end of the month. Over all had a good day!

I have uploaded more pictures on my Flickr page, so go and have a look. Click Here.
