Godinton House and Gardens

Yesterday I went to Godinton House near Ashford, the house is set in the English countryside sounded by gardens. Unfortunately, I got there early, so I decided to kill some time at the Eureka Leisure Park, which consists of Dobbies Garden Centre, Cineworld, Frankie's and Bennie's, McDonald's and hotels.

First, I visited Dobbies Garden Centre, never been before and checked out the plants and to see what they had on offer, by that time I went to McDonald's and tries a spicy wrap, fries and banana milkshake. After that, I spotted the Eureka footbridge and decided to take some snaps, driven many times under it but never stood on it.

Then I went to Sainsbury's as I knew they did women's clothing and went through all the rails, spotted a few things but nothing special.

Buy that time Godinton House opens its gates at 1pm, I drove in and followed the road towards the house, missing the roaming cows. I parked the car and went to the café where they sell the tickets.

I was given a warm greeting from Kim, she gave me a map and directions on the best bits to visit, she noticed that I had heels on, I said I was just going to stick to the paths. The Ticket to see the garden only was just £5, the house was on shown only several times during the week and The house and garden were £10, the car park was free.

Off I went taking pictures, the first bit was OK but as you go further around the gardens get better, as you can see from my pictures it was a very windy day, so my hair is all over the place. At one point I looked like Captain caveman (If some of you can remember the Kids TV show), there was a coach arriving, so I gave the café a miss as it wasn't that big, so the queues might be big so could the toilets be a bit of a wait.

Overall I was very surprised at the gardens and for only £5, there is not much for kids to do so you will need to bring your own entertainment if you have any kids. I would recommend maybe visit the gardens in late Spring / early Summer to get the full effect.
